LEAP (Life Experience Action Planning) for Families

TAP's LEAP workshop is designed to help individuals, couples  and families take charge of their financial future--specifically  (based on suggestions and feedback from financial experts, facilitators, and participants) to deal with shortfalls from loss of savings, income and jobs. During the class, participants picture a future in which they are living “well” within their means, figuring out, step by step, how to make that picture a reality. They set

monetary objectives (which could involve developing a budget, curbing spending, reducing debt), identify their network, and set priorities.  Participants say that:

  1. The LEAP  workshop took a very murky situation and broke it down into do-able  steps.
  2. It was empowering.
  3. The LEAP provided specific tools that helped me see my financial purpose clearer.
  4. I think the financial pie charts we did to translate our financial  drawings were the best part.
  5. I feel like I have a better understanding of my  financial situation and how to reduce my expenses.
  6. It more than met my expectations.

Previous LEAP participants have stated that they have already taken action. For example, in only two months, one couple reduced monthly expenses 40%!    The workshop is facilitated by Marcia or Denny Hamilton with Sally Theder, an investment counselor., President of  Investment Basics and Beyond Consultants.
